Founded in 2007, 826 Boston provides free writing and tutoring for students ages 6 to 18, annually serving more than 4,000 students and forming partnerships with more than 150 teachers. Even with a network of 2,500 volunteers in the community, there is always a need for more help to extend their school programming.
The free programming is funded by generous sponsors and fundraising events like the Night of 1,000 Stories gala on May 23 at 6 PM. This year’s event features award-winning author and 826 co-founder Dave Eggers, alongside 826 Boston’s slam poetry team.
