Stand up (paddle) for a good cause

by
Cape Cod Bay Challenge

When I think of stand-up paddleboarding, I recall the time I gingerly paddled in a circle in a tiny lake alcove one summer, terrified of falling in.

An estimated 50 people are taking this recreational activity to a whole other level on Sunday, July 27, when they participate in the 12th annual Cape Cod Bay Challenge – a 22-mile SUP relay race beginning at either Scusset Beach or Nantasket Beach and ending at Duxbury Beach.

All race and post-event proceeds benefit Christopher’s Haven, a nonprofit providing apartments for families of children undergoing cancer treatment at Boston-area hospitals.
