Montages are misleading

by The 100 Companies

Over the holidays, I watched several movies and noticed something.

In films, protagonists have a goal to get from Point A to Point B … to conquer the bad guy or show a personal transformation. Enter the montage: a catchy song plays while progress is made, and at the end the goal is all but attained.

Though entertaining, montages give the illusion that progress is fast and easy, but accomplishing goals takes time, dedication, sacrifice and consistency. I find myself wishing I could accelerate my progress. “They” say the joy is in the journey – perhaps I should add catchy tunes?
