A generation ago, things ground to a halt on Sundays – which, in today’s fast-paced world, seems romantic at best.
In our home, we hold fast to coming together for Sunday dinner. Phones stay away, my wife and I enjoy the kids for a whopping six minutes (a fraction of the time it took to prepare the meal), but there’s value there.
Each week, I prioritize listening over talking – because when kids trust us to listen without judgement to the little stuff, they ultimately bring us the big stuff.
The mantra I repeat to myself: I can live in the silence.
