Despite snow hanging around in April, tick season is here in Massachusetts. Although they’re usually a year-round problem (they come out anytime there’s a warm up), the season is March-May and August-November. It’s not just woods and tall grass – ticks are everywhere.
Some tips to help protect yourself and your pets this season:
• Pet flea and tick collars last 6-8 months.
• Topical sprays like OFF do repel most ticks.
• Tuck your pants into your socks when walking in the woods or tall grass – you may feel a bit odd, but better to be protected than infected.
