Urgent care centers are opening frequently across Massachusetts, and Dr. Calvin A. Brown III, medical director of the Urgent Care Center at Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center in Foxborough, says they’re a valuable resource for patients.
They can handle sprains, lacerations, minor fractures, asthma attacks, ear infections and more – and they are first come first serve, rather than triage, which can leave you waiting for hours.
If you suspect your illness or injury is severe, go directly to the emergency room, but don’t overlook urgent care centers for minor issues to save time and receive great care.
