How companies can support suicide prevention

MyAdvisor, a veteran-owned business that connects others to mental health services, has some tips for how employers can support a vital new mission: PREVENTS.

• All companies should participate:  Businesses are a crucial piece of PREVENTS. We must make sure to include all lines of work, especially those with employees in high-stress roles.

• Prioritize mental health and suicide trainings:  Mental health and suicidal thoughts don’t just happen overnight, and people won’t always openly discuss it. Help your employees learn more.

• Provide mental health programs:  Individuals don’t always seek help or don’t know their options. Telehealth programs provide accessible and affordable care.
