While protein bars are often thought of as a healthy snack, too many companies market them as nutritious, when a closer look simply exposes them as glorified candy bars.
Make sure you aren’t being deceived by the label and instead read the ingredients. Look for products with less than eight ingredients, and be sure you can identify them by name. Most importantly, avoid those pesky sugars that hide under names like agave nectar, malt, brown rice sugar, etc.
Protein bars that live up to their labels and have real nutritional value are bars like RXBAR, LÄRABAR, KiZE and Quest.
