I came across disturbing vacation statistics on glassdoor. Despite taking vacation days, two in three Americans (that’s 66%) report working while on vacation. And in the last 12 months, the average employee has only taken half of his/her eligible vacation time/paid time off.
Thanks to digital devices beckoning 24/7, many of us simply can’t wind down.
Time to change that dynamic. Vacations mean just that. In our office, unless it’s an emergency, we don’t bother the vacationing staffer – but that doesn’t always mean they don’t occasionally call in on their own! How can we change the narrative?
