Social media changes spark user backlash

by The 100 Companies

Keeping up with the ever-changing algorithms can be challenging as social media grows. At the end of July, Meta announced that significant changes would come to both Facebook and Instagram. The platform updates have sparked controversy among users and led to the petition to “Make Instagram, Instagram again.”

Facebook will now have a “home feed” focusing primarily on recommended content and “feeds” featuring friends and favorited content. Instagram’s changes will include a full-screen feed, in-feed recommendations and more videos. Meta responded to the backlash by ensuring users all updates will improve the platform.
