Not to brag, but Bostonians have two reasons to raise a glass of green beer each March 17. This date marks not only St. Patrick’s Day, but also Evacuation Day, an official Boston holiday commemorating British troops evacuating Boston in 1776 during the Revolutionary War. Here are our favorite ways to celebrate:
St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Southie – This parade attracts up to 1 million spectators. Arrive early.
Dropkick Murphys – Boston’s own does a string of hometown shows at the House of Blues.
Irish Heritage Trail tour – The Boston Irish Tourism Association provides guided walking tours of landmarks during March.
