MFA Boston’s first-ever Frida Kahlo exhibit

by
MFA Boston Frida Kahlo

MFA Boston’s first exhibit dedicated to Frida Kahlo – “Frida Kahlo and Arte Popular” – is on display at the museum through June 16.

Eight of Kahlo’s paintings, on loan from places like New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, are displayed next to about 40 pieces of “arte popular,” traditional Mexican folk art Kahlo was known for collecting. Pieces include decorated ceramics and embroidered textiles. Much of the “arte popular” items are on loan from the San Antonio Museum of Art.

Enjoy this rare opportunity to see Kahlo’s paintings as part of admission cost.
