My aunt and uncle were in the prime of their youth in the 1940s – he returning home from WWII, she an aspiring artist. I’ve been fascinated with the styles back then and loved looking at photos of my aunt’s clothes, shoes and hairstyles.
This winter, I was introduced to Krzystyna Caldarone, who owns Vintage Girl Studios. She promised to transform me into one of those 1940s gals.
Ninety minutes and TONS of makeup and hair spray later, I was ready for my close-up. Although I’ll never be a model, it was an unforgettable experience that brightened a dreary winter.
