Black History Month in Boston

by
history

February is Black History Month and a good time to head into Boston to learn something new and see some of the great historical landmarks our city offers. The Black Heritage Trail is a great place to start.

Among others, visitors can tour the Abiel Smith School, the first school built for African-American children, and The African Meeting House, the oldest black church building in the nation.

African-American culture is celebrated yearlong at the “Boston Black” exhibit in the Boston Children’s Museum. The exhibit explores music, dance and beauty while inspiring healthy discussions about race and diversity.
