It’s been 250 years since a pair of lanterns were hung in the belfry arch of the Old North Church tower – a signal that the British were approaching.
This year, the Concord250 commemorates the semi quincentennial anniversary of the American Revolution (and “the shot heard ‘round the world), during which the folks of present-day Massachusetts secured their independence from Britain.
The town’s annual parade steps off on Patriot’s Day – April 19 at 8:30 a.m. – and invites community members to envision the next 250 years, rife with ideals of liberty, equality, natural and civil rights and responsible citizenship for all.
