Apple picking is a favorite New England fall activity. After which, everyone is usually left with more apples than they know what to do with, and without fail, I find myself wanting to use them in a freshly baked homemade apple crisp, a classic.
These recipes can be loaded with fat and sugar, both of which are unnecessary because apples are naturally sweet. So, I created my own healthy version this year and I must say, it’s delicious. I use several spices in this lighter version, especially cinnamon as it’s a metabolism booster. Your heart will thank you for it!
