Civil Rights Committee in Boston

Recently, the Boston City Council formed a Special Committee on Civil Rights. I’m proud to be the chair of this committee, especially as we’re facing uncertain times in our country, particularly around issues of civil rights and liberties.

Creating this committee is an affirmative step toward protecting and defending all Bostonians, ensuring that everyone is able to participate in the civic and economic life of their communities.

I look forward to working with city agencies, non-profit organizations and members of our diverse community to create legislative and policy solutions that guarantee the welcoming and inclusive spirit of our city.
