The wisest guy I know often schedules walking meetings at work. It’s especially effective for regular one-on-one meetings and quick progress updates.
Counterintuitively, it even prevents multitasking. It’s hard to discretely check email or text your spouse while walking next to someone. Other advantages:
Healthy: It may be the only part of the workday when you aren’t sitting, offering many benefits.
Hard stop: You are done when you get back to the office.
Creativity: Whether you’re walking downtown or at a nearby park, you’re looking at something other than the four walls of a conference room. That promotes creative thought.
