With summer heat on the horizon, pools are opening, and although they provide a great way to cool off, pools are inherently dangerous. Homeowners need to be aware of their legal obligation to provide a safe environment for friends and family.
Fencing – All pools in Massachusetts must have a fence or barrier at least four feet high with a locking gate.
Proper drain covers – Drains need to be covered properly so people don’t trip over the openings.
Accessories – slides and diving boards must be regularly assessed for damage, and they require a deep end that’s at least nine feet deep.
