Predictions are in that this is going to be the worst tick season ever. These little suckers thrive in warm weather, and although it has been fairly cold, a few warm days this season helped them mature. Lyme disease is a reason for caution, but ticks cause other debilitating diseases as well. Here are some ways to protect yourself:
• Wear long clothing when hiking – look for lightweight hiking clothing.
• Use good bug spray and tick repellent – be sure to shower after your activity to remove any chemicals.
• Physically check for ticks – have someone look over the spots you can’t see.
