Nonprofit Spotlight: Ellie Fund

by Michael Polzella

Founded in 1995 by Jeff and Eliot Popkin to honor their mother Ellie, the Ellie Fund provides essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of everyday life, allowing the focus to be on family, recovery and healing.

A cancer diagnosis means physical, emotional and financial stress for the patient and family. By providing grocery assistance, transportation to appointments, childcare, housekeeping and delivered meals, we help to reduce a patient’s burden while in treatment.

In 2016, the Ellie Fund supported 669 patients in addition to 931 family members who are also affected by the diagnosis. Donate here.
