Southwest Corridor Park

It’s thawing outside, which means it’s time to lace up your sneakers and get to jogging, walking or racket swinging – whatever suits your style.

One of our favorite places to hit the pavement is Southwest Corridor Park. The 4.7-mile park spans 52 acres and includes tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts and trails.

In the ‘60s, the space was originally designated for a 4.6-mile section of I-95. Hundreds of acres of housing were razed to make room for the project, sparking protest, and ultimately, its cancellation. The first park segments opened in the area in 1987.
