A $2.5 billion Encore resort and casino building already stands tall above Boston Harbor in Everett in anticipation of a June opening.

The Wynn Resorts property will serve the only real Kobe beef in New England at Rare Steakhouse, one of 15 restaurants and lounges. Wynn hopes to fill about 5,000 jobs in these restaurants and throughout the resort.

However, it’s not guaranteed the resort will open. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is reviewing results of a yearlong investigation into sexual assault allegations against co-founder and CEO Steve Wynn. The resort’s fate will be determined after a hearing.
