As a designer, I’m fortunate to work in many small towns. Growing up in Lincoln, I am overcome with nostalgia every time I drive down Boston Post Road, homesick for the quirks of small-town life.
Writer Howard Mansfield captures small-town life in his book “Summer Over Autumn.” From yard sales and Fourth of July celebrations to Sunday strolls and town meetings, all these community moments that connect you with neighbors are emphasized.
Stone design still has my heart, but my frequent small-town ventures bring me back to galloping through cornfields on the back of my horse, Mica.
