With COVID-19 numbers rising, Delta Air Lines has announced its plan to continue capping available seating on planes at 60% and blocking middle seats through Sept. 30. Delta CEO Ed Bastian shared this may continue beyond September as part of the carrier’s strategy to maintain safety for fliers and limit the virus’ spread.

Delta continues to require passengers to wear face coverings and recently formed a partnership with the Mayo Clinic to review its cleaning and protection efforts.

This announcement follows news from other airlines, including American and United Airlines, who plan to begin booking upcoming flights to full capacity again.
