How to design an accessible website

design accessible website

If you don’t take the time to ensure the usability of your website, you’ll never attract the customers you desire, especially if you run an e-commerce site.

To ensure better website accessibility, choose your content management system – WordPress, Drupal, other – wisely. Give your links good descriptions so those using screen readers are able to access content. Always provide alt text for images on your site, and use color to create contrast between backgrounds and content on each page. Finally, because assistive technologies rely heavily on keyboard-only navigation, ensure your site is navigable without having to use a mouse.
