The Hockomock Area YMCA recently hosted its annual gala, The Legends Ball. The event honors local sports legends for their athletic and community service accomplishments and raised funds for the Integration Initiative. The Integration Initiative allows children with special needs the opportunity to participate in sports and activities along with their typically developing peers.
This year, New England Patriots defensive tackle Rob Ninkovich was honored. The event raised over $200,000 to support Integration Initiative programs. Since the inception of the program, the Hockomock Area YMCA has assisted over 1,000 families in the community seeking integrated special needs services.
