Columbia Gas announces restoration plan for Lawrence

Columbia Gas recently released plans to restore gas service to customers in Lawrence, Andover and North Andover by Nov. 19. The update comes after almost 80 explosions and fires rocked Merrimack Valley on Sept. 13, causing one fatality and leaving dozens homeless. The tragedy is believed to have been caused by the over-pressurization of a gas line.

While the update provides some hope, families will be entering the cold season without gas to take hot showers, heat their homes or use their stovetops.

Residents can apply to receive assistance from the Greater Lawrence Disaster Relief Fund by dialing 211.
