Growth in unlikely places

by
fern

Naturally formed objects above and below the earth led me to a fascination with petrified wood. Gigantic trees plunged into the earth, starved of oxygen and buried in total darkness for over 200 million years almost magically turns wood into stone.

On a recent buying trip for a conference table, I stumbled upon reincarnation. A spirited fern was rising through the petrified wood, proving nothing can stop desire, a mentoring hymn from mother nature. Resuscitation by oxygen, water, and a ray of sun, the fern springs back to life and proves growth can be achieved in the unlikeliest of places.
