How to handle frozen pipes this winter

With one bomb cyclone behind us, we can’t predict what the rest of winter will bring. One thing’s for sure: the storm caused major plumbing problems in New England.

Fred Webster Jr., owner of MillTown Plumbing, says, “We’ve had triple the call volume since the storm left so many with frozen and burst pipes.”

Fred suggests keeping temperatures in your house consistently above 65 degrees, turning your water off if you leave because of frozen pipes and no heat to prevent flooding, and only using mild heat – heat gun or hair dryer – on frozen pipes if necessary. No open flames!
