Crocus Focus

Crocuses are some of the first flowers you’ll see in spring – tiny purple (occasionally white) flowers with a flaming yellow center. Crocuses are part of the iris family and require little maintenance. This beautiful perennial bulb returns every year.

Types of crocuses are broken down by their blooming seasons – early spring and fall. The majority of crocuses bloom in the spring. One of the autumn bloomers is especially popular because it produces the spice saffron. Saffron threads are the dried filaments from crocus sativus, commonly known as Saffron Crocus. Be on the lookout for crocus this spring and fall!
