Less-crowded places to watch fireworks

by
Boston fireworks

The epitome of patriotism: watching fireworks spark on the Fourth of July in Massachusetts – especially given the Revolutionary War was sparked here some 244 years ago. Here’s where we recommend watching the iconic Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular (that aren’t Charles River Esplanade).

• Wright’s Tower in Medford – The tower will be closed, but the surrounding area offers a bountiful skyline view.

• Robbins Farm Park – Great city views from this renovated Arlington park.

• Prospect Hill Park in Somerville – Elevated vantage point.

• Wollaston Beach – Enjoy two views: fireworks and Quincy Bay.

If you do watch along the river, we recommend the Cambridge side.
