Last issue, we covered Boston’s tiniest neighborhood. This issue, we cover the largest.

Dorchester, set across six square miles, is home to over 100,000. It’s arguably the most diverse neighborhood in Boston and has a complicated history (more than we can cover in 100 words). Originally a separate town founded by Puritans immigrating in 1630, it was annexed to Boston in 1870, with population swelling by the 1920s due to new street car lines and immigrants moving in.

Visitors have a broad array of global cuisines to try. Pro tip: If someone says they’re “OFD,” they’re originally from Dorchester.
