Growing up, I could never decide which square of the Sky Bar to eat first. This funky candy bar has always been one of my favorites, so I was devastated last summer when Necco went out of business, leaving its future unclear.
Enter Louise Mawhinney, owner of Duck Soup in Sudbury, who placed a winning bid on the brand after seeing how popular it was among customers.
Mawhinney will work with Necco’s former VP of R&D to produce the bar in small batches. It will re-emerge on shelves by the end of 2019 for a slightly higher price.
