Walgreens issues ‘Wake Up Call’

Walgreens wakeup call

About 50% of patients with chronic conditions sometimes fail to take their medication as prescribed. This can lead to higher rates of hospital admissions, poorer health outcomes and increased healthcare costs.

In response, Walgreens has launched a nationwide “Wake Up Call,” which is a campaign to increase medication adherence and help patients stay on top of their medication.

As a Walgreens pharmacist, I’m proud to be a member of a patient’s support team and am armed with advice and tools that help overcome barriers to adherence such as getting to the pharmacy on time, understanding their prescription or being forgetful.
