Wine Review – 19 Crimes Red Blend

by

I am a red wine kind of gal, and this Southeastern Australia blend has become my new winter favorite. It’s called 19 Crimes, and each bottle has a photo of a British prisoner, from the late 1780s, who was found guilty of one of 19 crimes and shipped to an Australian penal colony. Crimes ranged from theft to impersonating an Egyptian!

I tried the red blend – shiraz, pinot noir, grenache and cabernet. The taste was fruity, bold and didn’t have the acidic burn of some heavier reds. At less than $10 a bottle, it’s a wine worth 19 crimes that!
