A Boston Tradition Marches On

by

The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade marched its way through South Boston with OUTVETS, an openly gay veterans group briefly banned from the parade by crusty organizers then reinstated thanks to the leadership of Mayor Walsh, Governor Baker and other politicians who refused to show up if the ban remained.

“We’ve not only served our country under fire, we’ve served our country under fire from our families, we’ve served under laws that tried to take away our rights, just because of who we love,” said OUTVETS executive director Brian Bishop.

Hundreds of years later, Boston continues to fight injustice. Bravo!
